Eastern High School is a DCPS high school; students with a DCPS right-to-attend seat (in-boundary and/or through a DCPS feeder pattern) can enroll directly without submitting a My School DC lottery application. (myschooldc.org) Families seeking an out-of-boundary seat apply through My School DC (the common application/lottery) by creating a family account, entering student and guardian information (including home address), and ranking up to 12 schools in true preference order. (myschooldc.org) For SY 2026-27, the lottery application opened December 15, 2025; the Grades 9–12 deadline was February 2, 2026; rankings could be adjusted until March 13, 2026 (5 p.m.); results/waitlist positions are released March 27, 2026; and the common enrollment deadline is May 1, 2026. (enrolldcps.dc.gov) To complete enrollment after a match or waitlist offer, families must provide proof of DC residency and submit required DCPS/school enrollment paperwork and up-to-date required health forms. (osse.dc.gov) Waitlists are generated from application rankings (you are waitlisted at higher-ranked schools), offers are made in order as seats open, and families must enroll by the stated deadline to accept an offer; if you miss the lottery deadline you may still submit a post-lottery application. (myschooldc.org) Eastern’s lottery priority categories listed on its My School DC profile are (1) Sibling Attending, then (2) Sibling Offered, with ties within preference groups broken by a random lottery number. DCPS’s Out of School Time Programs (OSTP) afterschool programming is described as serving PK3–5 (elementary) and PK3–8 (education campuses), and the published SY 2025–26 OSTP site list does not include Eastern High School (grades 9–12). As a result, there is no DCPS OSTP afterschool care program listed for Eastern High School. (dcps.dc.gov)
