Why we built Chapter.
When my daughter was ready for pre-K, I did what every parent does. I started researching. I was looking for the best math scores, the best reading scores. What I failed to realize was that 3 year olds can't read or do math.
A friend connected me to an educational consultant who, within about five seconds, set me straight. She guided us to a school that was genuinely right for our daughter. And I noticed she was running her entire practice out of a three-ring binder.
My co-founder Avery and I had spent years building products at companies like Shopify, Zocdoc, and StubHub. So I asked her: would you like some help with that binder? Along the way she told us nobody has built software for K-12 consultants. There's plenty for college. Nothing for us. Chapter exists to change that.
