Anacostia’s primary site (anacostiahs.org) was unavailable at the time of review; enrollment guidance is instead posted on a DCPS-hosted Anacostia HS page and via My School DC. (anacostiahs.org) For the standard DCPS program, students may enroll directly if Anacostia is their DCPS in-boundary high school, or apply to attend out-of-boundary via the My School DC common lottery; Anacostia also offers a selective Early College Academy (ECA) option, which requires items like report cards, an on-site essay, an interview, and recommendations (not random lottery-only admission). (myschooldc.org) For SY2026–27, key dates include: lottery opened Dec 15, 2025; Grades 9–12 application deadline Feb 2, 2026 (now passed); ranking changes allowed until Mar 13, 2026 at 5 p.m.; results/waitlist positions released Mar 27, 2026; Enrollment Saturday Apr 25, 2026; and the matched-student enrollment deadline May 1, 2026. (myschooldc.org) To enroll, families should be prepared to complete DCPS/school enrollment steps including proof of DC residency and required health forms; Anacostia’s enrollment page specifically directs families to upload or send residency documentation to the school registrar (email/text) and provides a phone number for help. (myschooldc.org) If seats aren’t available, waitlists are ordered by the school’s preference groups (then random lottery number), with post-deadline applicants added below lottery applicants (and waitlists do not carry over year-to-year); for Anacostia HS the listed priority (preference) categories are (1) Sibling Attending and (2) Sibling Offered, and families who missed the Feb 2 deadline can submit a post-lottery application starting Feb 3, 2026 for high school.
