Cedar Elementary does not publish a separate school-level “admissions” process; Avon Community School Corporation directs new K–8 families to first confirm their assigned school by neighborhood list, boundaries map, or the bus routing app, then complete the district’s online new-student registration. (avon-schools.org) Before starting, families are asked to prepare a birth certificate, parent/legal guardian ID, two proofs of residency, previous-school contact details, and emergency contact information, and to upload photos of documents during the application. (avon-schools.org) Only a parent/legal guardian may enroll (legal guardians must provide custody documentation), and enrollment is not final until required forms plus residency/custody paperwork (if applicable) are submitted and then verified by the school (K–8 families receive confirmation/welcome email from the building registrar). (avon-schools.org) The district’s residency guidance states students attend the school for the boundary where the parent/guardian resides and requires two original proofs of residency (with examples) while noting that driver’s licenses/pay stubs are not acceptable as residency proof. (avon-schools.org) Key dates shown include kindergarten registration opening March 2 for the “class of 2039” and returning-student registration forms being sent in April; the district pages reviewed do not describe a waitlist, lotteries, or priority categories beyond residence-boundary assignment.
