Admissions

Updated 6mo ago

Starting from Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church’s site, the church’s history page identifies The Mount Vernon School as the private school on its campus, and the school’s admissions page says families begin by connecting with admissions, scheduling a visit or tour through Ravenna, and then submitting an application in Ravenna for PK2 through Grade 12. (mvpchurch.org) For the 2026-2027 school year, applications opened on October 1, 2025 and were due February 15, 2026; the school also listed division-specific fall 2025 open houses and says completed applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee, with decisions posted in Ravenna. (mountvernonschool.org) Required items listed on the admissions page are the Shared Applicant Information Form, a $100 nonrefundable application fee, a parent questionnaire, a student questionnaire for rising Grades 6-12, teacher evaluations for rising PK3-12, school records for rising Grades 1-12, JATP testing for rising K-5, and an Admissions Visit Day for rising PK3-12. (mountvernonschool.org) If a family misses the main deadline, the school says to contact admissions, but I did not find a publicly posted description of a formal waitlist process on the pages available; likewise, I did not find any publicly stated admissions priority categories such as sibling, church-member, or employee preference. (mountvernonschool.org) Separately, Mount Vernon says admissions is need-blind, financial assistance for new families has a March 1, 2026 deadline, and aid decisions are released with admission decisions; the site also notes that families applying after that financial-aid deadline receive aid only rarely.
