Saint Ann’s describes its teaching philosophy as education for its own sake: a no-grades, inquiry-driven approach that nurtures each child’s curiosity, encourages intellectual risk-taking, and centers the arts as essential to learning. The school emphasizes ambitious, flexible teaching tailored to students’ talents and interests, with teachers using detailed feedback and close mentorship rather than rankings or prizes to help students pursue knowledge and excellence. Saint Ann’s says applicants apply through its online admissions portal, and the public site organizes the process by division rather than offering one single schoolwide checklist; admissions are holistic and based on interviews plus school-specific review rather than IQ/ISEE scores or grades alone. (saintannsny.org) For the 2026-27 cycle, the main application deadline shown across divisions is November 15, with preschool also requiring a Student Information Questionnaire and Parent Questionnaire by November 15, 6th grade requiring additional materials by December 1 and final items by January 8, 2026, and most K-12 recommendation/forms materials due by January 8, 2026. (saintannsny.org) Requirements vary by entry point: kindergarten includes an application, parent/guardian tour, child interview, teacher evaluation, and parent conversation; 6th grade includes an application, student essay, parent questionnaire, writing sample, report card, teacher evaluation, and ISEE/SSAT; 9th grade requires a virtual info session, application, student interview, essay, parent questionnaire, writing sample, transcripts/reports, academic evaluations, and ISEE/SSAT. (saintannsny.org) Key decision dates posted on the site are February 5, 2026 for kindergarten, February 11, 2026 for grades 1-8 (including 6th-grade decisions or updates on openings), February 20, 2026 for high school, and February 26, 2026 for preschool. (saintannsny.org) For waitlist/priority, Saint Ann’s says kindergarten and 9th grade may stop processing once interview slots fill and then place later applicants into a no-fee wait pool through November 15, while many non-entry grades are handled only if attrition creates openings; the only explicit priority-like category stated publicly is that fours applicants are generally limited to children who went through the threes process in the prior cycle, and the public admissions pages do not explicitly list sibling, alumni, or faculty admissions preference categories. After School at Saint Ann’s is full of games, making, friendship, and fun. Children craft, explore board games, have dance parties, play, and create together. There is a quiet space for homework to happen for students in 2nd-5th grade. Children can choose their old favorites, learn a new skill or craft, make new friends and discover new passions. Our After School Program is open to Saint Ann’s students enrolled in Kindergarten through fifth grade.
