Teaching Approach

Updated 6mo ago

Woodward Academy describes its approach as providing distinctive, college-preparatory academics with the right level of challenge and support for each student rather than a one-size-fits-all model. It emphasizes learning in a diverse, inclusive community so students grow academically while also developing empathy, respect for others, and the perspective to become caring global citizens. Admissions

Updated 6mo ago

Woodward Academy’s website directs families to start with the admissions flow by inquiring, visiting, and then applying through its Veracross admissions portal, where applicants can also track application progress. (woodward.edu) For the current admissions cycle shown on the site, the main admissions page says the application deadline has passed on February 1, decisions are released on April 4, and admitted families must respond by April 14. (woodward.edu) The clearest publicly posted checklist on the site is for Upper School international applicants: applications open October 1 and require teacher and principal/counselor evaluations, official transcripts, TOEFL scores, an online interview, a birth certificate or passport copy, and optional SSAT scores. (woodward.edu) Woodward’s Transition Learning Support Program requires the regular Woodward admission process plus a current psychoeducational evaluation and an interview with the program director, and it says applications are reviewed individually based on criteria such as intellectual capability, diagnosed learning difference, achievement scores, and academic motivation. (woodward.edu) I could not find a public Woodward webpage that clearly explains a general waitlist process or lists priority admission categories such as sibling, alumni, or employee preference, so those details do not appear to be publicly posted on the pages I found.
