North Salem Elementary School (PK–5) is part of North West Hendricks School Corporation; for a new student, the district directs families to begin enrollment by contacting the building their student will attend—North Salem’s principal (Tiffany Cox) for grades K–5. (hendricks.k12.in.us) The district also states that all K–8 families must complete annual online registration in Harmony Family Access (new families receive an activation code by email), and a student is not registered until that online process is completed. (hendricks.k12.in.us) The school describes its enrollment area as Eel River and Union townships, which indicates residency/attendance-area assignment is central to where students enroll, but the site does not publish additional K–5 admissions requirements, priority categories, key deadlines, or a waitlist policy. (hendricks.k12.in.us) For the district’s Cubs Preschool program housed at North Salem, an open house and in-person application acceptance is listed for Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 6:00 PM, and children must be age 4 by August 1, 2026 (and potty-trained before the first day). (hendricks.k12.in.us) Preschool seats are limited (18 total), with priority first to NWHSC staff children, then in-district residents, then out-of-district residents (with a completed packet and a $150 nonrefundable fee), and spots are held for the first 15 full-day and first 3 part-time paid registrations received; no separate preschool waitlist procedure is described.
