Ballou STAY High School’s website directs families to complete the DCPS enrollment packet either online through Aspen or via paper forms, then gather supporting documents and submit the full packet to the student’s school enrollment team. (balloustay.com) Families new to DCPS are instructed to request an Aspen account to start enrollment, while returning families log in with Parent Portal credentials (a valid email is required, and the school can help if credentials are unknown). (balloustay.com) The site also notes families may need to submit required health/immunization documentation (such as DC’s Universal Health Certificate or other proof/exemption) if it is not already on file. (balloustay.com) Separately, DCPS describes Ballou STAY as an Opportunity Academy where eligible students may be referred via a school-initiated transfer (criteria include being age 16+ and 6+ credits off track for graduation; students on a special education certificate-track program are not eligible). (dcps.dc.gov) DCPS also states Opportunity Academies do not participate in the My School DC lottery, and the Ballou STAY site does not publish lottery-style key dates, waitlist procedures, or priority preference categories; families should contact the school directly for current timelines and seat availability. The school website has a "Child Care" page with instructions for waitlist placement (required documents include a UPO application, the child's birth certificate/medical card, proof of address, and immunization records). It provides a contact for details: Mr. Logan-El (Antonio.Logan-El@k12.dc.gov). The page does not specify that this is an after-school program, and it does not list hours or cost.
