Teaching Approach

Updated 7mo ago

Children’s Manor Montessori School describes its teaching philosophy as a Montessori-based, academically rigorous, hands-on, and supportive approach that develops the whole child. They emphasize individualized instruction, child-led exploration, and teachers acting as guides so students can build independence, curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and a joy of learning at their own pace.

Admissions

Updated 7mo ago

Prospective families can begin by requesting a tour, requesting information, or attending an open house, then reserve a place at the Baltimore/Windsor Mill campus by completing CMMS’s enrollment form and paying a $200 non-refundable enrollment fee; CMMS says it then emails instructions for the tuition deposit. (childrensmagnet.com) The form requires student and parent details, prior-care history, a requested start date, medical/allergy and custody information, and a selected program/schedule; published program ages run from 6 weeks through elementary, with Honors requiring age 4 by September 1 and Kindergarten age 5 by September 1. (childrensmagnet.com) I did not find a single posted admissions deadline or annual application calendar on the site; instead, families choose a requested start date, and any change must be made in writing within 2 weeks of the original date. (childrensmagnet.com) Before the first day, health records are required by law, and by the student’s first day the family must have paid the remaining first-month tuition plus the second month’s tuition through FACTS; first-time students are also subject to a 4-week provisional period. (childrensmagnet.com) Waitlist details are limited: CMMS says a child is placed on a waitlist if the family misses the start date without proper written notice, and the only explicit published priority category I found is for employees of Corporate Partnership employers, who receive Priority Status on the waiting list when spaces open.
