Teaching Approach

Updated 7mo ago

Stanbridge Academy describes its teaching philosophy as an individualized, whole-student approach for students with mild to moderate learning differences and social communication challenges. Their program emphasizes small classes, differentiated instruction, executive functioning support, and schoolwide social learning, while also integrating experiential learning, self-advocacy, and inclusive community participation to support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.

Admissions

Updated 7mo ago

Stanbridge Academy says private-school applicants start by submitting an online inquiry form; after an initial conversation, families who seem like a fit receive login details for the online application, and the Admissions Committee reviews completed applications. (stanbridgeacademy.org) Next, the family is invited for a campus tour and the student completes two consecutive full-day shadow visits; students in grades 4–12 may also complete reading and math assessments before a decision is discussed. (stanbridgeacademy.org) A downloadable admissions checklist PDF on the site asks for educational/academic/psychological testing, report cards and standardized-test results, a speech-and-language report, a parent narrative about the child, a current photo, an IEP/504 if applicable, a current transcript for high school students, and a $100 non-refundable application fee. (stanbridgeacademy.org) For timing, Stanbridge says it welcomes new students year-round and the homepage advertises rolling admissions, so I did not find a fixed general admissions deadline; if space is not available, qualified students are placed in a wait pool and notified when an opening appears. (stanbridgeacademy.org) I did not find published admissions-priority categories on the admissions pages I reviewed; the only explicit priority order posted is for financial-aid consideration, where current aid recipients are first, returning families without aid are second, and new students are last.
