Teaching Approach

Updated 8mo ago

Archimedean Middle Conservatory’s educational philosophy integrates partial immersion in Greek as a second language with a comprehensive mathematics program that fuses traditional American math (problem-solving and critical thinking) with Greek math (number sense, rigorous mental arithmetic, and strong foundations in algebra and geometry). Teachers design learning across core subjects while emphasizing the “art of thinking” and developing 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication, confidence, and creativity. Admissions

Updated 8mo ago

Archimedean Middle Conservatory (grades 6–8) accepts new students through an online-only application, and seats are offered via a public lottery/priority list when applications exceed available seats. (archimedean.org) Families apply during one of four annual application periods; for the 2026–2027 cycle, the AMC application window shown on Archie is 2026-01-15 through 2026-03-14 (and the prior period 1 ran 2025-11-15 through 2026-01-14). (archie.archimedean.org) For the 2026–2027 AMC period 1, the application page lists a public lottery date of 2026-01-29 09:00 (with lottery dates also posted and communicated after each period closes). (archie.archimedean.org) Key requirements/notes include submitting one application per child, ensuring you receive the confirmation/results emails, and understanding that if you are not offered a seat you generally must reapply (unless you opt into a one-time automatic rollover into the next year’s pool). (archimedean.org) Waitlist/offer rules: offers follow the priority list in numerical order as seats open; if a family declines or does not complete required steps within the stated timeframe (48 hours per the lottery procedures), the seat is offered to the next student, and the school states it does not disclose waitlist positions (though families can use the lottery-check page to retrieve the lottery number assigned). (archimedean.org) Priority categories listed include (in order) children of Archimedean Schools board members, children of Archimedean employees, children of active-duty U.S. Armed Forces members, Archimedean VPK completers from the prior year, and siblings of current Archimedean students; current Archimedean students are automatically readmitted without reapplying.
