Teaching Approach

Updated 6mo ago

Park Children’s Day School describes its program as child-centered, play-based, and experiential, with hands-on activities designed to support cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth while respecting each child’s individual learning style. The school emphasizes a nurturing, well-organized environment that builds self-esteem, curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning, while also fostering respect, cooperation, courtesy, and acceptance within a diverse school community. Admissions

Updated 6mo ago

For the 2026-2027 cycle, Park Children’s Day School says families should apply online through its admissions portal any time after Labor Day; the linked portal asks users to create an account to complete forms, upload documents, and track checklists, and the school directs questions to its admissions office by phone or email. (parkchildrensdayschool.org) The key public dates I found are an application deadline of December 12, 2025, a school open house listed for December 3, 2025, and a January 15 financial-aid deadline for families submitting TADS materials. (parkchildrensdayschool.org) PCDS’s published admissions criteria focus on family alignment with the school’s educational philosophy, the program’s fit for the individual child, and the school’s need to maintain a balance of age, sex, and personality types; it also states that it does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, or national or ethnic origin. (parkchildrensdayschool.org) On priority categories, siblings are the only explicitly named preference on the public admissions page. (parkchildrensdayschool.org) I did not find a public waitlist policy or waitlist procedures on the school’s admissions or contact pages, though the school notes that it follows ISAAGNY policy on communicating admission decisions.
