Coolidge HS is a DCPS neighborhood high school: students who live in-boundary have the right to enroll for grades 9–12 without using the lottery, while out-of-boundary students apply through the My School DC common lottery (Coolidge is listed as a lottery option for grades 9–12). For SY 2026–27, the My School DC lottery opened December 15, 2025; the Grades 9–12 deadline was February 2, 2026; applicants could optionally re-rank through March 13, 2026 (5:00 p.m.); and results/enrollment season opened March 27, 2026 (with a May 1, 2026 match-enrollment deadline). To finalize enrollment after a match/seat, families complete the DCPS enrollment packet (online via Aspen or by submitting to the school) and must provide required supporting documents, including DC residency documentation at the time of enrollment, plus required health forms by the first day of school. If the school has more applicants than seats, My School DC creates and manages a waitlist; waitlists are ordered by priority preference groups and then random lottery number (post-deadline applicants are added lower on the list by submission date), and schools make offers as seats open—waitlists are for that school year only and do not carry over. For priority categories, Coolidge’s listed lottery preferences are Sibling Attending and Sibling Offered; and note that Coolidge also has a separate, selective Early College Academy (ECA) listing that requires applying specifically to ECA (not just Coolidge) and completing additional steps such as submitting report cards, teacher recommendations, an essay, and a family interview.
