The George W. Hartmann Center describes an educational approach that is integrated into a structured, trauma-informed residential treatment program, pairing accredited onsite schooling with individualized treatment planning and therapeutic support. Students receive instruction through Marietta City Schools’ online Edgenuity program, with an emphasis on active participation, best effort, and opportunities to earn or recover high school credit while continuing their recovery. Admissions appear to be year-round through Highland Rivers Behavioral Health rather than by school-style enrollment cycles: a family or guardian submits the online Child and Adolescent Referral form/application for the Hartmann Center, and the program is open to girls statewide in Georgia; the site also lists phone numbers for referral help. (highlandrivers.org) Eligible applicants are female adolescents ages 13–17 with a verified primary diagnosis of substance use disorder, and the center says the teen must have enough cognitive ability to benefit from residential treatment. (highlandrivers.org) The published admission criteria also require severe substance use/dependency with significant functional impairment, plus at least one of these conditions: failure at lower levels of care/relapse history, inability to stop use despite imminent danger, or a dangerous/unstable living environment that would undermine treatment. (highlandrivers.org) For timing, the fact sheet says staff contact the family or guardian within 2 business days after receiving a referral and, if accepted, offer an intake appointment within 5 business days; I did not find any posted application deadline or public waitlist policy on the Hartmann Center pages reviewed. (highlandrivers.org) The only explicit priority category I found is that pregnant teens receive priority access, and Highland Rivers separately notes that first visits generally involve an assessment plus standard ID/residency/income/insurance paperwork where available.
