Partnership Elementary is a WCPSS magnet elementary (Interactive Community theme) that serves students from across Wake County, so admission is handled through the district’s Choice/magnet process rather than neighborhood assignment. (thepartnershipfoundation.com) To apply, a student must first be enrolled in WCPSS and have an active student ID; families then submit a magnet application during the Choice Application Window (Oct. 15, 2025–Jan. 22, 2026 for the 2026–27 school year), with results notified Feb. 19, 2026 (and a second-round window March 2–13, 2026 for select magnet schools). (wcpss.net) Applications are not first-come/first-served; families new to WCPSS can also submit a SchoolMint transfer request within 10 days of enrolling, but approval is not guaranteed. (wcpss.net) If not selected, students go into a non-numeric waitlist (“applicant pool”); applicant pools are reviewed in the spring to fill vacancies and families are notified via the online account/email if a seat becomes available. (wcpss.net) Selection priorities for elementary magnet seats begin with guaranteed priority for rising kindergarteners to join an older sibling already assigned as a magnet student at the same school, then most remaining seats are prioritized based on the socioeconomic status of the student’s assigned next school and home area, with remaining seats filled by lottery.
