Admissions

Updated 2mo ago

Colorado Academy’s 2026-2027 admission season has concluded, and families interested in 2027-2028 start after August 15 by creating an online account and submitting Step 1: Student Form; there is no application fee, and families then complete the grade-specific checklist in the portal. (coloradoacademy.org) Key dates for the 2027-2028 cycle include Admission Previews on September 24 and October 6, an Admission Athletics Open House on October 24, the January 15 deadline to complete all admissions steps, the February 15 financial-aid deadline, and decision releases at 4:00 p.m. MT on February 19, 2027 for Grades 6-11 and February 26, 2027 for Pre-K-Grade 5. (coloradoacademy.org) Requirements vary by division, but generally include a student form, parent form, recommendations, transcripts/attendance records, testing where applicable, video submissions for some grades, and a student visit; Grades 6-11 require principal/advisor/counselor plus English/social studies and math recommendations, transcripts including attendance/discipline/standardized testing, a student video, a student visit, and test-type-flexible testing from the prior two years. (coloradoacademy.org) Pre-K applicants must be 4 and Kindergarten applicants 5 by September 1 of the entry year, CA accepts applications for all grades except Grade 12, and major entry points are Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grade 3, Grade 6, and Grade 9. (coloradoacademy.org) Applications submitted after January 15 are considered for the wait pool, wait-pool student visits are delayed until CA anticipates an opening, and wait-pool status means the Admission Committee would like to admit the student if space becomes available. (coloradoacademy.org) Priority is limited: siblings of current students receive preference if qualified and if space is available, while children of alumni are reviewed favorably but do not receive a formal preference over unaffiliated applicants.
