Admissions

Updated 7mo ago

Our Lady of Mount Carmel (OLMC) Catholic School limits admission to families registered with Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish who are raising their children in the Catholic faith; Kindergarten applicants must be age 5 on or before August 1 of the entry year, and transfer applicants (grades 1–8) are accepted only if there is an opening (grades 6–8 require an interview and are considered rare). (school.olmc1.org) For the 2026–2027 school year, OLMC reports it is accepting applications but the priority window closed November 7, 2025; families applying after that are instructed to contact the school office to apply. (school.olmc1.org) An application is not considered complete until required documentation is received (birth certificate, baptismal certificate, current immunizations, any IEP/504/WIDA scores if applicable, and a current-teacher questionnaire; grades 3–8 also submit a recent report card, standardized test scores, and a 1st Communion certificate). (school.olmc1.org) Full-Day Kindergarten requires a $200 non-refundable deposit at application, and OLMC notes payments must be delivered to the school office (no online payments). (school.olmc1.org) If a class is full, students are placed on a waiting list and must re-apply each year to remain on it; OLMC also states waitlisted students who re-apply within the priority window receive first priority on the waiting list for the next grade. (school.olmc1.org) When applications exceed available seats, priority is: (1) currently enrolled students advancing to the next grade, then (2) parish-registered families applying in the priority window with siblings (ranked by length of parish registration), then (3) parish-registered families applying in the priority window without siblings (ranked by length of parish registration), then (4) applications received outside the priority window (also ranked by length of parish registration); OLMC’s Kindergarten wait list is only created in the year a child is eligible, and seats are filled based on the family’s parish registration date.
