Teaching Approach

Updated 7mo ago

Fletcher Miller School emphasizes providing students with unique needs access to a high-quality education designed to build independence and autonomy for lifelong learning. Their approach centers on individualized, interactive, interdisciplinary “whole child” instruction (addressing academic, communication, social-emotional, motor, and physical/medical needs) delivered by highly trained staff and in collaboration with families and other stakeholders. Admissions

Updated 7mo ago

For grades K–12, Fletcher Miller (special education) placement is not available through choice enrollment; students are placed by an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team decision based on needs, and families should contact their child’s current school or the Jeffco Special Education Department (303-982-6682) to discuss a request. For preschool, students with an IEP also enroll via direct contact/IEP-team placement, while families seeking the integrated preschool option for a child without an IEP apply through Jeffco’s EnrollJeffco system. For the 2026–27 school year, Jeffco lists Round 1 as Dec 2, 2025–Jan 9, 2026 (results Jan 20, 2026) and Round 2 as Jan 15, 2026–Aug 28, 2026; offers continue after Jan 20 as space is available. After accepting/confirming a seat, new students are typically required to upload documents in EnrollJeffco (parent/guardian photo ID, proof of student identity such as a birth certificate/passport, immunization records, and proof of address), and families generally have three days to accept an offer communicated by email/text. Waitlists are managed in EnrollJeffco (Round 2 applicants are added at the bottom of their priority group in submission order), and Jeffco’s choice-enrollment priority categories (where applicable) generally include: Jeffco resident with sibling at the school, child of a full-time staff member at the school, Jeffco resident from a designated feeder/neighborhood school, other Jeffco residents, then non-residents (with sibling / feeder / other).
