Hickory Elementary (ACSC, public) enrollment is handled through Avon Schools’ district online new-student registration; families should first confirm the child’s assigned K–8 school based on the home address using the district neighborhood list/boundary tools. (avon-schools.org) New K–12 student registration for the upcoming school year opens Monday, March 2, 2026, and returning-student registration begins Monday, April 6, 2026 at 4:00 pm (returning families complete this through PowerSchool). (avon-schools.org) Only a parent or legal guardian may enroll; legal guardians must provide custody documentation, and enrollment is not final until all forms plus any required residency/custody paperwork are submitted and verified by the school. (avon-schools.org) Requirements include uploading documentation such as the student’s birth certificate, parent/guardian photo ID, and two proofs of residency (acceptable items are specified by the district; some common items must be dated within 30 days, and driver’s licenses/pay stubs are not accepted as residency proof), and kindergarten eligibility is stated as being 5 years old by August 1. (avon-schools.org) After submission, the building registrar verifies the online registration and sends a welcome/confirmation email or requests additional items; the district’s public materials do not describe a K–5 waitlist or priority categories beyond residency-based attendance rights within the school boundary and completion of required documentation.
