Alcuin uses a sliding scale tuition model in which families apply through FAST and tuition is set within a range based on each family’s individual circumstances.

Teaching Approach

Updated 7mo ago

Alcuin Montessori School describes its approach as child-centered and rooted in Montessori principles: nurturing each child’s inherent love of learning while helping them become independent thinkers, creative problem solvers, and compassionate citizens. Students work at their own pace in carefully prepared, multi-age classrooms with freedom within limits, where teachers guide observation-based learning and emphasize respect, independence, concentration, creativity, and community. Admissions

Updated 7mo ago

Families are directed to start with Alcuin’s virtual tour, then submit the appropriate online application plus a non-refundable $100 fee ($50 for sibling applications); for Primary–Middle School applicants, recommendation forms are required for currently enrolled students, elementary applicants should also send prior-school records, and children age 3+ must complete an interview or shadow day while families meet with admissions. (alcuin.org) Admissions are open for ages 6 weeks to 14 years, and the school says entry is most natural at the first year of each multi-age cycle, though families new to Montessori are still welcome if space permits. (alcuin.org) The website does not list one general annual admissions deadline: infant and toddler enrollment is ongoing with no deadline, infant/toddler placements are reviewed monthly (for example, a January start is usually contacted in late November/early December), and the financial-aid page notes a February deadline only for re-enrolling families seeking aid. (alcuin.org) For waitlists and availability, Alcuin says an application is required to join the infant or toddler waitlist; the admissions page’s latest posted status is dated November 5, 2025 and says there were no immediate infant openings, a toddler waitlist of about 1 to 1.5 years, possible infant spaces for babies under 3 months in coming months, some immediate All-Year Primary openings, and continued acceptance of 2025–26 applications for Junior Elementary and Middle School. (alcuin.org) Priority consideration on the admissions page goes to siblings of current students, children of Alcuin alumni, and children with prior Montessori experience once suitability is established; the parent handbook also lists priority in this order: returning students/siblings, then children from other Montessori schools, then children from new families. Day House is Alcuin's before and after school care program for children currently enrolled at Alcuin. While rooted in Montessori philosophy, it also incorporates age-appropriate, non-Montessori materials such as puzzles, art supplies, building toys, imaginative play materials, and games that encourage creativity, collaboration, and joyful exploration.
