Teaching Approach

Updated 7mo ago

First English Lutheran Preschool & Kindergarten describes its approach as nurturing learning through empathy, play, exploration, and inclusive relationships, with a strong emphasis on social-emotional development. Their curriculum is play-based and developmentally appropriate, giving children time to explore, create, make choices, solve problems, and build resilience through emotionally supportive adult-child relationships influenced by the Mariposa Method. Admissions

Updated 7mo ago

For the 2026-27 school year, FELP directs prospective families to schedule a tour by email or phone, review its informational materials, and then submit the online enrollment application. (felpkids.com) The application asks for parent/guardian contact information, the child's name and date of birth, and the requested class/program, and the tuition page lists a $60 non-refundable application/registration fee. (docs.google.com) Requirements are mainly age-based: for example, Seedlings children must be 2 by September 1, Pebbles serves children who are 3 by December 31, River Rocks is for children who turn 4 in the fall and are 4 by December, and kindergarten students must turn 5 sometime between January and December of the calendar year they begin school; the form also says class placement is determined by age. (felpkids.com) For this cycle, the form says returning families should complete it by December 12 to confirm their space, new families will be notified on or before February 1, 2026, accepted new families secure a seat with a $560 payment covering the registration fee plus deposit, and need-based scholarship applications are due by March 1. (docs.google.com) I did not find a separate published waitlist policy, but the form states that new-family applications are considered in the order received and that submitting an application does not guarantee a space; it also asks families to identify whether the child is a returning student, a sibling of a current or former FELP student, a new family, or a church member, which appear to be the school's applicant categories rather than a formally described priority hierarchy.
