Admissions

St. Jude Catholic School asks prospective families (Grades 1–8) to begin by scheduling a visit/tour through the school office; during the tour/meeting, an administrator explains the steps needed for application and may offer shadowing. After the tour, the school may make an enrollment application/packet available; families submit the completed enrollment packet to the main office with a $110 registration fee during the Open Enrollment Period (the parent handbook notes this is typically February 1–February 20), after which available spots are filled using the school’s enrollment priorities and families are notified. Current-family re-enrollment paperwork is sent home in January and (for the 2025 cycle shown on the site) was due January 22, 2025; incoming Kindergarten families are invited to a January parent meeting (listed as January 23, 2025 at 6pm in the cafeteria), and new-student/new-KG enrollment begins after re-enrollment, with prioritization decisions made near the end of February. Requirements referenced include providing prior school records/transcripts/grades and, for transfer students, a parent written statement plus prior records (e.g., report cards/testing and plans such as IEP/504/Service Plan/ICEP, if applicable). Students not admitted may be placed on a waitlist, and if openings occur they are offered in the same priority order; the waitlist is recreated each year and ends when that school year ends. Admission priority is tied to available space and the Family Stewardship/“active parish member” policy; the handbook lists Priority 1 (re-enrolling students in good standing and active-parish siblings of current students), then Priority 3–6 (active members within parish boundaries enrolling first-time; active members outside boundaries enrolling first-time; non-parishioner/inactive siblings; and all other first-time non-parishioner/inactive families), while Priority 2 is shown in the handbook but its description is not provided in the accessible text and should be confirmed with the school office.
