The Jackson-Reed HS (DCPS) site at wilsonhs.org was not reachable during this check, so the admissions summary below is based on DCPS/My School DC enrollment sources. Students who live in Jackson-Reed’s in-boundary area (or have DCPS feeder rights) can enroll directly without using the lottery, while out-of-boundary applicants apply through the My School DC common lottery (you can rank up to 12 high schools). (enrolldcps.dc.gov) Key SY2026–27 dates include: application opens Dec 15, 2025; Grades 9–12 deadline Feb 2, 2026 (post‑lottery opens Feb 3, 2026); lottery results/waitlist positions Mar 27, 2026; and the lottery-match enrollment deadline May 1, 2026. (enrolldcps.dc.gov) After a lottery match or waitlist offer, families must complete the school’s enrollment steps, including proving DC residency and submitting required enrollment and health forms. (myschooldc.org) If the school is full, applicants are waitlisted and (if seats open) offers are made in waitlist order; waitlists are not guaranteed and reset each school year. (myschooldc.org) Priority categories listed for Jackson-Reed’s lottery are (1) Sibling Attending and (2) Sibling Offered, and recent My School DC data show very limited/zero lottery seats and minimal waitlist offers in past cycles. I could not find a dedicated after-school childcare/aftercare program for Jackson-Reed HS on the available school materials. The 2025–2026 Student/Family Handbook references after-school academic/support options (not childcare), including: Math Center ("usually open Mondays through Thursdays, 3:30-5:00 pm"), and the Library/Media Center ("open Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Fridays from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm"; also notes it is available "after school"). The handbook also points readers to wilsonhs.org for additional counseling and clubs/extracurricular information, but wilsonhs.org was not reachable at the time of lookup.
