Delaware Trail Elementary (Brownsburg Community School Corporation) directs new families to the district’s online enrollment process; enrollment is not considered complete until the online forms are finished and required documents are submitted to the registrar (uploads are allowed or documents can be delivered in person). Enrollment for kindergarten, preschool, and new students for the 2026–2027 school year is scheduled to open online on March 2, 2026, and the district notes it accepts students at any time, though enrolling earlier helps with spring class-list planning. Required documentation includes a birth certificate, immunization records, proof of Brownsburg residency (utility bill/lease/closing paperwork; a driver’s license is not accepted), custody papers if applicable, and completed enrollment forms; kindergarten eligibility requires a child to be age 5 on or before August 1, and kindergarten students complete a readiness assessment. The site does not describe a standard waitlist for in-district students, but out-of-district families can submit an interest form to be notified if open enrollment is approved; if approved, out-of-district enrollment is typically open for one week during the summer and does not guarantee admission. Priority is primarily given to families residing in the Brownsburg school district (with placement efforts toward a student’s “home school”), while out-of-district enrollment is contingent on school board approval and available classroom space and the district may place students to balance class sizes and program needs.
