To attend Weatherstone Elementary, families first enroll with WCPSS at the student’s base school by completing the district’s online enrollment and then bringing/uploading required documents (certified birth certificate, proof of Wake County address, parent/legal custodian photo ID, immunization record, and any custody documents), along with required NC health assessment/vaccinations for new public school students. (wcpss.net) Because Weatherstone is a year-round school, families who want placement there (when it is not their assigned base option) must be enrolled first (to obtain a student ID) and then submit a year-round Choice application during the district’s Choice Application Window; applications are not first-come/first-served. (wcpss.net) For the 2026–27 cycle, WCPSS lists these key dates: Oct. 15, 2025 (Kindergarten pre-registration opens), Oct. 15, 2025–Jan. 22, 2026 (Choice application window for magnet and year-round), and Feb. 19, 2026 (results notification). (wcpss.net) Weatherstone is on the WCPSS capped-schools list (cap date: January 22, 2019), so if the school is full a student may be assigned to an overflow school and placed on the base-school waitlist; students must be enrolled in WCPSS to be on the waitlist, and leaving WCPSS or moving خارج the base area removes them from it. (wcpss.net) If a seat opens, families may receive a mid-year or summer call with different rules for staying at the current school, and year-round selection priorities include (in order) entering-grade siblings (guaranteed), calendar-matching siblings, students from low-SES areas, rising 6th graders continuing a year-round calendar, and students assigned to crowded schools, with 10% of seats filled by lottery.
