To apply to KIPP DC – Legacy College Preparatory PCS (charter, grades 9–12), families submit an application through My School DC (DC’s common lottery) and rank Legacy (and any other KIPP DC schools) in their preferred order. (kippdc.org) The 2026–27 My School DC lottery application deadline for grades 9–12 is February 2, 2026; lottery results are released on March 27, 2026, and matched families must complete enrollment by May 1, 2026 to keep the seat. (kippdc.org) After a match or waitlist offer, KIPP DC requires proof of DC residency and uses its enrollment portal (accessed with a snapcode) to collect documents such as a birth certificate, parent/guardian ID, and (if applicable) report card and IEP. (kippdc.org) If Legacy is full, the student is placed on a waitlist and seats are offered as they become available; KIPP DC says students who apply after the lottery deadline are added to the waitlist and are offered seats on a first-come, first-served basis. (kippdc.org) Legacy’s listed lottery preference categories are: children of staff, transfer, sibling attending, twin offered, and sibling offered. (myschooldc.org)
