Teaching Approach

Updated 6mo ago

Packer’s Early Learning Center describes its philosophy as student-centered and evidence-based, viewing children as competent, capable co-constructors of their own learning. Teachers create playful, inquiry-rich experiences that support exploration, deep thinking, and meaningful connections while also nurturing social-emotional development, belonging, and age-appropriate understandings of equity, inclusion, and sustainability. Students continue to learn through play as they are gradually introduced to academic routines in literacy, math, science, and social studies.

Admissions

Updated 6mo ago

For Packer’s Early Learning Center, families start by creating a Ravenna account; through Ravenna they can register for optional admissions events, submit materials, track status, and receive decisions, and Packer says it follows ISAAGNY admissions procedures. (packer.edu) Pre-K Threes applicants must be 3 years old by June 30, 2026 and submit the Parent/Guardian Application, Parent/Guardian Statement, and $100 non-refundable fee by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025; completed applications enter a lottery pool, selected families are invited to February playgroups, decisions go out on February 26, 2026, and enrollment decisions are due by noon on March 5, 2026. (packer.edu) Pre-K Fours applicants must be 4 years old by August 31, 2026, but PK4 is not a traditional entry year: openings depend on attrition, applications submitted by November 21, 2025 are placed in an active waitpool, and only families contacted after space opens are invited to tour/interview. (packer.edu) PK4 also requires an ISAAGNY Confidential Information Sheet and School Report from the child’s teacher by January 8, 2026; the $100 fee is charged only if the family is invited to interview, notifications are not before February 26, 2026, and families receive a waitpool-status update then, with contracts/deposits due by noon on March 5, 2026. (packer.edu) On the admissions pages reviewed, Packer says it uses a holistic review and seeks families aligned with its values of equity, inclusion, and belonging, but I did not find any explicit published priority categories such as sibling, legacy, or faculty-child preference.
