Teaching Approach

Updated 8mo ago

Saint Ignatius Loyola School’s approach is to integrate Catholic Christian values (modeled by St. Ignatius Loyola and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton) with high academic achievement in a setting that fosters enthusiasm for learning. The school aims to weave these values into all secular studies and activities, while encouraging students to grow in independence and character (responsibility, honesty, service, and friendship). It also emphasizes service to the wider community, celebrates a multicultural community, and recognizes parents as children’s primary educators.

Admissions

Updated 8mo ago

To apply for the 2026-2027 school year, families are instructed to contact the Admissions Office starting the week of August 25, 2025; first-time prospective parents must attend a parent-only admissions information session/tour (Lower Campus for PreK3–K; tour for Grades 1–7) because applications are distributed at the end of the tour and are not provided electronically/on the website. (saintignatiusloyolaschool.com) Completed applications must be submitted in hard copy (mail or hand-delivery to the Upper Campus) with a nonrefundable fee ($235 domestic / $335 abroad) and required materials such as immunization records (the school states students must be fully immunized with no medical or religious exemptions), photos, questionnaires, and (where applicable) teacher recommendation(s), report cards, and test scores. (saintignatiusloyolaschool.com) Key dates listed include a PreK3–K application deadline of December 11, 2025, January 2026 assessments/visits (e.g., PreK3/PreK4 visit on January 9, and Kindergarten assessments January 6–9), and PreK3–K notifications emailed the week of January 19, 2026; for Grades 1–7, the application deadline is January 20, 2026, assessment/testing is January 23, and notifications are emailed the week of February 2. (saintignatiusloyolaschool.com) Admitted families must register by the date on the acceptance letter or the seat is forfeited. (saintignatiusloyolaschool.com) On waitlists, the site states you may not defer an acceptance to the waitlist, and it does not otherwise publicly explain how a waitlist is managed; it also does not list formal admissions priority categories beyond noting sibling families can request an application directly and do not need to tour.
