Teaching Approach

Updated 8mo ago

Mysa School uses an individualized, mastery-based, experiential model in a small, cooperative multi-age setting where students help chart their learning pathways with close faculty guidance. Students work from a weekly personalized “Mysa Menu” and progress by demonstrating mastery at their own pace, alongside interdisciplinary, place-based “Connect Units” and problem-based projects rooted in real-world community contexts.

Admissions

Updated 8mo ago

Mysa School directs families to apply online through its OpenApply portal (with options to submit a Registration of Interest and to schedule a tour/event when available). (mysa.openapply.com) The school’s OpenApply “Welcome” page describes a six-step admissions process: general application, parent & student questionnaire, teacher recommendation, transcripts/academic records, parent interview, and a student visit (with requirements varying by the child’s age). (mysa.openapply.com) The application itself lists required components including general family information, school history, parent questionnaire, student questions, plus a teacher recommendation and transcript request sent through the system (or families can upload current and prior academic records, noting “2 years”). (mysa.openapply.com) Mysa does not publicly post a comprehensive admissions calendar/deadlines on these pages, and its main website states it is not accepting applicants for the 2025–26 school year. (mysaschool.org) No public details were found on waitlist procedures or admissions priority categories; families are directed to contact the admissions office for help/questions.
