Montessori School of Denver bases its teaching on Montessori principles that develop the full potential of each child through careful observation, student choice, and a thoughtfully prepared, child-centered environment. Students learn at their own pace in multi-age classrooms with hands-on materials that move from concrete experiences to abstract understanding, building independence, intrinsic motivation, and problem-solving. Teachers act as trained guides who introduce developmentally appropriate lessons and support students with long, uninterrupted work periods that foster concentration and perseverance.

Montessori School of Denver’s admissions starts by submitting an inquiry form, then visiting campus via a tour/open house, and then applying online through their admissions portal (with a $150 non-refundable fee); 6th–8th grade applicants also complete a supplementary student application. (montessoridenver.org) First-round applications for the 2026–2027 school year open October 1, 2025 and are due January 9, 2026, with completed files due by February 13, 2026; Primary/Kindergarten group student visits are scheduled for Friday, February 6, 2026, and decision notifications (after 4pm by email) are dated Feb 20, 2026 (Middle School), Feb 27, 2026 (Primary–5th), and Mar 6, 2026 (Toddler). (montessoridenver.org) Required steps/materials listed include uploading documents such as a birth certificate (plus other materials as applicable), providing transcripts and teacher recommendations for students currently enrolled elsewhere, completing a required virtual parent/guardian chat, and completing a required student visit for all applicants except Toddlers. (montessoridenver.org) Applications submitted by the January 9 deadline receive priority for first-round consideration (though applications are not evaluated first-come-first-served), and afterward the school says it will keep accepting applications on a rolling basis based on space availability. (montessoridenver.org) The website does not spell out a formal waitlist process or explicit preference categories beyond the deadline-based priority; it also notes admission is not guaranteed, and separately states that need-based tuition assistance (Primary–8th) gives priority to returning families.
