Teaching Approach

Updated 7mo ago

GEO Focus Academy of Indiana emphasizes a personalized, future-focused learning experience, using K12’s engaging curriculum to help students learn in ways that fit their needs and build on their interests and abilities. Instruction is delivered through a blend of online lessons and offline, hands-on materials, with Indiana-licensed teachers providing support and live virtual sessions (“Class Connects”). The school also highlights strong family involvement (a parent/guardian “Learning Coach”) and college/career readiness opportunities, including on-campus and virtual college coursework for eligible high school students.

Admissions

Updated 7mo ago

GEO Focus Academy (private, online) directs families to apply through the K12 enrollment/parent portal: create a parent account, submit an application selecting GEO Focus Academy of Indiana, and then complete remaining steps with enrollment support available by phone/chat. (geofocusindiana.k12.com) Requirements highlighted by the school include being an Indiana resident and meeting the age rule (generally ages 5–21 by August 1 of the current application year); the handbook also notes required documentation such as proof of Indiana residency, proof of age (e.g., birth certificate), custody documents if applicable, and immunization records or a medical/religious objection, plus prior report cards/transcripts (or homeschool grades/test scores) and a “good discipline record” (students cannot enroll if currently suspended/expelled). (geofocusindiana.k12.com) Key timing items listed include the August 1 age cutoff, immunization documentation due during enrollment or within 10 days of the student’s start date, and that enrollment may be revoked if documentation/residency cannot be established by the 45th calendar day. (geofocusindiana.k12.com) The school’s “How to Enroll” page currently states it is no longer enrolling for the 2025–2026 school year, and the published 2025–2026 academic calendar shows classes beginning August 14, 2025 (with the school year ending May 22, 2026), so families should confirm the next open enrollment window directly with the school. (geofocusindiana.k12.com) The website/handbook do not describe a waitlist procedure or any priority admission categories; admissions appear to be based on completing the application and submitting required documentation (and any applicable tuition/fees). After-School Care

Updated 7mo ago

GEO Focus Academy of Indiana is described on its website as an "online private school" (grades K–12). I did not find any webpage or handbook section describing an on-site after-school care/extended-day childcare program (hours, pricing, or enrollment). The Parent/Student Handbook states that during in-person outings/events the "Legal Guardian... [is] responsible for supervising children at all times" and that students must have prearranged transportation "before and after school events" (picked up within 15 minutes of event end), which suggests supervision/care is handled by families rather than a school-run after-school care program.
