Teaching Approach

Updated 8mo ago

Berman Hebrew Academy grounds learning in Torah, aiming for students to “know how to learn and love to learn Torah” while also pursuing excellence across general and Judaic studies as a unified educational program. The school emphasizes the sacred pursuit of knowledge in every discipline, alongside character development—fostering derech eretz (respectful conduct), ethical behavior, service and responsibility, and a strong connection to the people and State of Israel.

Admissions

Updated 8mo ago

Berman Hebrew Academy states that admission is open to Jewish children from 2-year-old Preschool through Grade 12, and families are encouraged to begin by completing an inquiry form and scheduling a tour/meeting with the Director of Admissions (Ellie Levine). (bermanhebrewacademy.org) Applications are submitted online via the school’s “Apply Now” page, which directs families to start the application in the school’s application portal (you’ll create an account to begin). (bermanhebrewacademy.org) Key dates shown on the website include: applications open August 27 (listed for the 2025–2026 school year), applications accepted on a rolling basis through January 16, 2026, admissions decisions released March 6, 2026, and enrollment due March 20; after March 6, applications are accepted only as space is available. (bermanhebrewacademy.org) A stated requirement for attendance is immunization compliance: students must be fully vaccinated, immunization information must be on file as of the first day of school and provided prior to admission, and the school notes it accepts valid medical exemptions but not religious exemptions (it also states K–12 students and staff must have at least 2 COVID vaccine doses and that an annual flu vaccine is required). (bermanhebrewacademy.org) The publicly available admissions pages do not describe a formal waitlist process or any admissions priority categories; the only guidance given is that post-decision/late applications are considered if space is available, so families would need to contact Admissions for waitlist/priority specifics.
