Teaching Approach

Updated 8mo ago

Word of Life Christian Academy emphasizes an academically rigorous, structured education that is integrated with a biblical worldview, aiming to make biblical instruction part of the entire program of study. They also stress a safe, nurturing environment with strong academic and social discipline, high expectations for achievement and behavior, and whole-child development (spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical), supported by qualified Christian staff and parental involvement.

Admissions

WOLCA directs families to apply through its website using the online registration system; for daycare, the application asks families to include documents such as the child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and a physical form, and to pay a non‑refundable $50 application fee before submitting. (wolca.org) After the application is submitted, the school reviews it and contacts the family; for K5–8th grade, new students must also meet with the principal and take a placement test (the handbook notes a $25 placement test fee) and families are required to set up a FACTS tuition account. (wolca.org) Age/readiness requirements listed include daycare enrollment for children about ages 2–3 who do not have to be potty trained, and preschool enrollment requiring students to be at least 2.5 and fully potty trained (with some preschool program age cutoffs tied to being a certain age by September 30). (wolca.org) Key timing information published focuses on enrollment/tuition operations rather than application deadlines: tuition payment plans run from August 15 to May 15, and the continuous enrollment contract is sent in January/February with a two‑month window to unenroll for the next year (the handbook also lists the last day of school as May 29, 2026). (wolca.org) If a class reaches capacity, the school starts a waiting list; the handbook says “preferred” applicants (e.g., Christian family with a clear testimony/church attendance and support for school standards, including possible recommendation by a WOLCA family or pastor) are offered openings by date of application and others may be waitlisted, while “acceptable” applicants are offered remaining openings after preferred families and are not placed on a numbered waiting list.
