Teaching Approach

Updated 8mo ago

Connelly School of the Holy Child describes its teaching as an intellectually challenging, dynamic college-prep program that uses collaborative, active, inquiry-based learning designed around girls’ strengths in connection and context. Teachers are given time to mentor and know each student personally, within a Catholic educational tradition that joins faith and intellect and aims to build “joy in learning.” Students are encouraged to lead discussions, explore multiple perspectives, and engage in project-based work and experiences beyond the classroom to become women of conscience and action. Admissions

Updated 8mo ago

Families start by completing the Inquiry Form and setting up an account in Holy Child’s admissions portal, which is also used to register for events/visits and to track application progress. (holychild.org) Applicants then submit the application (via the portal), schedule an upper-school interview, and arrange for official transcripts (current and prior year) plus teacher recommendation forms to be sent directly from the current school. (holychild.org) For Upper School entry (especially 9th grade), Holy Child lists specific deadlines and notes that 9th grade candidates must select a date (in the portal) to take the Holy Child Admission Strength Assessment. (holychild.org) Key dates shown for the 2025–2026 cycle include: 9th grade application/financial aid and merit scholarship deadline (December 5, 2025), 9th grade supporting documents deadline (December 12, 2025), Middle School application/supporting documents and financial aid deadline (January 16, 2026), decision notifications (February 20, 2026 for 9th grade; February 27, 2026 for Middle School), and Grade 10–12 application deadline (June 1, 2026). (holychild.org) Financial aid is completed through the Clarity application (with the same December 5, 2025 and January 16, 2026 deadlines shown), and merit scholarship materials are requested by December 5, 2025 (including an Alumnae Legacy scholarship among other awards). (holychild.org) The public admissions pages reviewed do not describe a waitlist process or any admissions priority/preference categories (e.g., sibling/alumnae priority) for Connelly School of the Holy Child; families are directed to contact the Admissions Office for questions.
