Teaching Approach

Updated 8mo ago

Independent Baptist Academy describes Christian education as Bible-centered learning in which Scripture “permeates every aspect” of the school and serves as the filter for curriculum, discipline, and decision-making. Their approach aims to develop Christ-like character and spiritual responsibility while also pursuing strong academics through a traditional classroom model (using resources such as Abeka and Bob Jones University materials). They emphasize partnership between home, church, and school to train students to both “live” (character and morals) and “make a living” (skills and scholarship).

Admissions

Updated 8mo ago

Independent Baptist Academy (IBA) directs families to download and complete its enrollment/application packet from the Admissions page, and to contact the school by phone/email for questions; the 2025–2026 application states that, for an application to be considered, families must attend a tour and a New Parent interview and then submit a non-refundable registration fee with the application. (ibaclinton.com) New-student enrollment (and re-enrollment) is approved at the school’s sole discretion, and new students are tested prior to grade placement; students who do not meet IBA’s academic standards may be placed on academic probation or held back a grade. (ibaclinton.com) Requirements described across the Admissions policy and application packet include: families being actively involved in IBA’s church or another church, both parents signing a “Statement of Cooperation,” meeting Maryland immunization requirements/providing up-to-date immunization records, and (for K5) being age 5 by September 1 and fully potty trained; IBA also states it is not equipped to take special-needs students. (ibaclinton.com) Key dates/fee timing noted in the packet include the registration fee due with the application, a $45 testing fee due prior to testing for new students, a material/technology/activity fee due July 1, and tuition payable in full by August 1 (or via a 10-month plan); the Admissions page also notes accounts must be paid in full by May 10 to avoid withdrawal. (ibaclinton.com) For priority, returning students are given priority enrollment status over new applicants until a re-enrollment deadline (the site does not list the specific deadline date), and the 2025–2026 calendar included in the packet indicates re-enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year begins January 6, 2026; the website does not describe a waitlist process.
