The school also highlights explicit, structured literacy practices to build reading and writing proficiency across the curriculum.

Admissions

Updated 8mo ago

Mosaic Preparatory Academy’s school site primarily directs families to an “Open Enrollment” flyer and provides the main contact number, but NYC Public Schools admissions are handled through the DOE’s MySchools system (school code M375). For Kindergarten entry in Fall 2026 (children born in 2021), the NYCPS application window ran from December 9, 2025 to January 23, 2026, with offers released March 31, 2026; if you missed the deadline, you can still join waitlists in MySchools. For 3-K and Pre-K entry in Fall 2026, applications opened January 14, 2026 and are due February 27, 2026; offer releases are May 12, 2026 (Pre-K) and May 19, 2026 (3-K). Eligibility is based on NYC residency and age (and admissions are not first-come, first-served); families typically list programs on a single MySchools application and can include their zoned school as a choice. Mosaic Preparatory Academy is a zoned neighborhood elementary school, so zoned applicants are prioritized ahead of non-zoned applicants (and any additional priorities are shown per program in MySchools). After offers are released, waitlists are used to fill open seats; students are automatically waitlisted for higher-ranked choices, can optionally join additional waitlists in MySchools, and waitlist order depends on admissions priorities plus when the family joined the waitlist.
