Admissions

Updated 7mo ago

Admissions are primarily for Roman Catholic children from families registered as parishioners of St. Maria Goretti who regularly attend Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation, and families are expected to follow the school’s stewardship model (Mass participation, tithing/CMA, and service hours). To apply, families submit the online application (PowerSchool Enrollment) and provide birth and baptism certificates, recent report card/standardized test scores for grades 1–8, and any resource/support documentation; kindergarten applicants also sign up for a screening. The school states applicants will be notified of their status—either a seat offer or placement on the waitlist—by March 1 each year (and notes the 2026–27 application period is currently closed, with the admissions director listed as the contact). When applications exceed openings, priority is: (1) currently enrolled students continuing to the next grade, (2) siblings of currently enrolled students (with “sibling” status protected after 12 months on the priority list, and longer-waiting siblings prioritized), then (3) other parish-registered families without children in the school based on parish registration time and school registration date. Waitlist movement can occur at any time, and a child on the waiting list for two consecutive years keeps their position as long as they re-register each year during the open registration period. Declining an offered spot can reset/demote the applicant’s position (including a new 12-month wait to regain sibling status), and the school says it is outside their norm to accept middle-school transfers (grades 6–8) unless the family is moving into the area.
