Teaching Approach

Updated 8mo ago

Evangel Christian School teaches a comprehensive academic program intentionally framed by a Biblical worldview, aiming to develop students spiritually, academically, socially, and physically while supporting parents in their God-given responsibility for their children’s education. Its curriculum is designed to meet or exceed Virginia educational requirements, using Christian instructional materials (and selectively using secular texts without endorsing content that conflicts with its faith perspective) to help students learn to think clearly, logically, and independently.

Admissions

Updated 8mo ago

Evangel Christian School directs families to start by scheduling a tour through the school office (and notes Open Houses are offered each spring), then submit the online application and a $30 application fee. (ecsdalecity.org) The application process also asks for the student’s prior report cards (last end-of-year and most current), recent standardized test results (e.g., SAT/OLSAT/CAT/SOL), and a completed School Records Request Form; the school also provides downloadable Pastoral Reference (for all students) and Teacher Reference forms. (ecsdalecity.org) After applying, K3–K5 applicants complete a screening and grades 1–8 take an entrance test (focused on grammar and math), followed by a Principal interview once testing and prior records are received; decisions are made by the admissions team and communicated by email. (ecsdalecity.org) If accepted, families complete online enrollment and must be enrolled in FACTS for enrollment to be considered complete; the registration fee is $150 per student from February 1–July 31 and $200 beginning August 1 (no general application deadline is listed on the site pages). (ecsdalecity.org) Before school starts, families must submit required paperwork including a birth certificate copy, a Prince William County School Entrance Health Form, and immunization records; the website does not describe a waitlist process or any priority admissions categories.
