Teaching Approach

Updated 7mo ago

Eastside College Preparatory School describes its approach as a rigorous, common college-preparatory program for all students, with every required course aligned to University of California entrance requirements and with added college-readiness classes that build critical reading, writing, and application skills. The school pairs this challenging academics model with extensive, personalized support—including small resource classes, mentoring, and structured help for students who need extra academic or learning support—especially for first-generation and low-income students. Admissions

Updated 7mo ago

Eastside’s admissions page tells families to use the linked 2026-2027 application and teacher recommendation forms, lists a prospective-family open house on Saturday, November 1, from 2:30–5:00 p.m., and says completed applications for the 2026-2027 school year are due Friday, December 12, 2025. (eastside.org) The application is only complete when Eastside receives applicant information with a current photo, the family education questionnaire, a handwritten student statement, parent/guardian responses, financial information, standardized test scores from the previous two years, transcripts/report cards from the past two school years plus the first quarter of the current year, and recommendations from the current English and math teachers. (eastside.org) Families must also submit 2024 tax-return information, or, if they did not file taxes, a letter explaining why plus documentation of income sources. (eastside.org) For priority categories, Eastside says its priority is to admit students who will be the first in their families to go to college, and its recommendation materials also describe the school as serving first-generation college-bound students, students with financial need, and students underrepresented in higher education. (eastside.org) I did not find a published waitlist policy or waitlist procedure on the admissions page or in the application materials reviewed. (eastside.org)
