For Pendleton Elementary (SMCSC), families start by completing the district’s online New Student Registration (PowerSchool) for the appropriate school/grade; if you have children in multiple schools, you submit one online registration per child, and the school office emails PowerSchool parent-portal access codes within about 5 business days. (smcsc.com) After submitting the online registration, parents/guardians contact the school to schedule an in-person appointment to complete enrollment and bring documentation (birth certificate, immunization records, two proofs of residency, parent/guardian photo ID, and custody papers if applicable). (smcsc.com) For grade eligibility, kindergarten students generally must be age 5 on or before August 1 of the school year and be of “legal settlement” (in-district); non-residents may apply through the non-resident process, and early-entrance/waiver appeals exist for certain August/September birthdays with screening and space-available requirements. (smcsc.com) Non-resident admissions for 2026–2027 have a defined application window (March 2–April 17, 2026) and, if requests exceed openings, a lottery is held (May 7, 2026) with notifications by May 11, 2026; late non-resident applications may be considered through September 18, 2026 only if space is available and criteria are met. (smcsc.com) The website does not describe a general waitlist for PES residents; instead, priority is primarily based on being an in-district resident (“legal settlement”), while non-resident applicants are limited to available openings and may be selected via lottery, and in-district transfers are approved based on registration numbers.
