Admissions

Updated 7mo ago

Greenwood Christian Academy (GCA) directs families to apply online and submit a non-refundable $75 application fee, along with required items such as a family reference contact, records release (grades 1–12), birth certificate, and standardized test scores; after submission, GCA may request transcripts plus behavior and attendance records from the current school. For the 2026/27 school year, applications opened February 3, 2026, with a priority application window February 3–8 (Wave 1), reviewed the week of February 9; applications submitted on/after February 9 are treated as Wave 2 and reviewed after Wave 1. Applicants may be invited to an admissions assessment and, if selected to move forward, a family interview with a principal; GCA’s admissions policy also emphasizes Christian-family alignment (e.g., at least one parent/guardian professing faith and regular church attendance) and student readiness (e.g., minimum 2.0 GPA, roughly 50th-percentile achievement, and acceptable recent behavior history). Admissions decisions are communicated by email; accepted families must complete the online enrollment packet and pay a $100 new-student enrollment fee within 48 hours to secure the seat (otherwise the student may be moved into a waiting pool). When grades reach capacity, GCA closes those grades to new applications and uses a waitlist (for 2026/27, GCA lists PreK 3-day half-day/full-day, Kindergarten, and grades 2–7 as not accepting applications); priority is effectively given to returning students via continuous enrollment and to new applicants who submit during the early-February priority window (Wave 1) before later applicants (Wave 2).
