Teaching Approach

Updated 3mo ago

The Mandelstam School emphasizes whole-child development through an integrated curriculum that combines rigorous academics with daily gymnastics, arts instruction, and character development. Its approach focuses on small classes, individualized support, confidence-building, creativity, critical thinking, and social-emotional growth, with learning experiences that connect projects, performances, discussion, experimentation, movement, and reflection.

Admissions

Updated 3mo ago

The Mandelstam School says it accepts applications on a rolling basis throughout the year and begins each admissions journey with a one-on-one/private tour; families can schedule a tour through the school site or by contacting the office. To apply, families create a FACTS/RenWeb admissions account, complete the online application, review/submit it, and pay a $100 non-refundable application fee. The school asks for supporting materials including school records/release of records, teacher recommendations, academic records/current grades, standardized test scores when available, and diagnostic/psychological/OT reports or similar assessments if applicable; Pre-K 4 applicants who have not attended school do not need a release of school records. After documents are received, the child is scheduled for an assessment visit with a one-on-one academic assessment and a one-on-one gymnastics assessment, and may also be invited to spend a half day or full day on campus before Admissions Committee review. If admitted, the school sends an enrollment agreement, and a signed contract plus a non-refundable deposit is required to hold the seat; the 2026-2027 tuition page lists deposits of $3,000 for the first child and $2,500 for each second/third child, with a re-enrollment late-fee date of March 18, 2026 for existing families. I found no published waitlist policy or admissions priority categories on the school’s admissions, FAQ, tuition, or FACTS/RenWeb admissions pages.

for an additional fee. For more information on pricing or to enroll, please contact the front office.

Aftercare provides a relaxed, supportive environment where students can complete homework assignments, enjoy free play both indoors and outdoors, and spend time with friends in a fun, familiar setting. If a child participates in extracurricular activities on campus—such as gymnastics, dance, tutoring, or art—the aftercare team will ensure they arrive at their class on time and can return to aftercare if additional time is needed before pickup.
