Avenues describes an innovative, world-focused education that combines a nurturing, locally rooted community with an emphasis on students’ social-emotional wellbeing as the foundation for success. Its global curriculum is structured around the “Avenues World Elements,” which define both what students learn (knowledge, skills, and qualities) and how they learn through staged experiences such as language immersion, projects, and service. The program is designed to be interdisciplinary and modular, supporting real-world problem solving and collaboration across disciplines and campuses worldwide. (avenues.org)

Avenues New York asks families to start by submitting a preliminary application form online as early as possible; after that, families complete remaining requirements (including parent and student statements) and are encouraged to finish early to allow time to schedule assessments and a parent conversation and to request current-school documents. (avenues.org) The school offers two main rounds for 2026–27 entry—First Choice (binding) and Regular Notification—and notes that most open seats are filled via First Choice; siblings and colleagues’ children commonly apply in First Choice for priority consideration. (avenues.org) Key dates shown include: First Choice preliminary form due Nov 1, completion due Nov 19, with decisions released Dec 12, 2025; Regular Notification preliminary form due Dec 1, completion by Jan 8, 2026, with decisions issued on a grade-based schedule from Jan 30–Feb 20 and reply deadlines from Feb 10–Mar 6. (avenues.org) Standardized testing is required for grades 9–12 (ISEE or SSAT), while grades 1–8 are test-optional (with optional ISEE Primary for grades 2–4 and optional ISEE/SSAT for grades 5–8), and the school states there is no minimum test score requirement. (avenues.org) Applicants not offered admission in the First Choice round may be waitlisted (and the school also indicates it may consider late applications for any remaining openings after Regular Notification); application-fee waivers can be requested by email if needed.
