Teaching Approach

Updated 7mo ago

Intercultural Montessori Language School describes its teaching approach as a blend of authentic Montessori education and daily dual-language immersion, with self-directed, hands-on learning guided by trained Montessori educators. The school emphasizes nurturing the whole child at an individual pace while building independence, empathy, biliteracy, cultural understanding, and the skills needed to thrive in a multilingual, multicultural world. Admissions

Updated 7mo ago

Intercultural says families begin by scheduling a tour of the Chicago or Oak Park campus; after the tour, the school sends an application link, then arranges a family interview and child observation, and accepted families receive enrollment next steps. (interculturalmontessori.org) The inquiry form shows families must choose a campus, school year, language program, and grade/program level, with age/program cutoffs such as Toddler (15-35 months), MY3 (turns 3 after September 1), EC3 (turns 3 by September 1), and EC4 (turns 4 by September 1). (interculturalmontessori.fsenrollment.com) I did not find a published general application deadline on the admissions page; instead, the school says to apply early because many programs fill quickly, and its portal currently accepts interest for fall 2025-2026 and 2026-2027. (interculturalmontessori.org) For school-start timing, the published 2026-2027 calendar lists new student classroom visits on August 20-21, 2026 and the first day of school on August 24, 2026. (static1.squarespace.com) If no space is available, Toddler and Early Childhood applicants join a waiting pool and may be offered a second-choice language program or campus, while Elementary and Middle School are described as highly selective. (interculturalmontessori.org) I did not find explicit admissions priority categories on the current admissions pages; the only priority language I found was on the financial-aid page, which says aid priority goes to eligible applicants who apply on time and that current students are considered before new applicants, so that appears separate from admissions priority.
