The Juvenile Services Center does not describe a public “apply/enroll” admissions process; youth are placed through law enforcement/court/probation actions into either Shelter Care (non-secure care for pre-adjudicated juveniles with status offenses) or Secure Detention (for alleged delinquent acts/non-status offenses, or when a court finds the youth is unlikely to return to court or must be confined for safety/community protection). Immediately upon admission, a parent/guardian is expected to report to the facility to complete required medical and educational release/consent paperwork. Secure Detention materials describe an intake/orientation period (24 hours) that includes reviewing rules and passing a handbook quiz, and they note a physical exam within the first 7 days of admission. The website/documents do not list admissions deadlines or seasonal “key dates” beyond these intake timelines, and they do not publish a waitlist procedure; they do state capacity (about 20 youth in Shelter Care and up to 86 in Secure Detention), so placement may depend on space. No separate priority categories are published beyond the placement categories and court-determination criteria described above.
