Atlanta Classical Academy describes its approach as a classical, content-rich education aimed at forming students in both mind and character, with emphasis on virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility. The school says it teaches students through great books, rich subject knowledge, excellent questions, and a focus on moral and intellectual virtue—helping them learn what is true, do what is good, and love what is beautiful, while de-emphasizing technology and prioritizing disciplined, interconnected study. Atlanta Classical Academy is a tuition-free K-12 public charter school, and applicants must reside within the Atlanta Public Schools district; families apply by submitting a lottery application for each child through the Apply APS Charter/SchoolMint platform, and the school recommends attending an enrollment information session. (atlantaclassical.org) For the 2026-2027 cycle, the lottery application window ran from January 5, 2026 through 11:59 p.m. ET on February 27, 2026, and on March 9, 2026 open seats were offered and grade-level waitlists were published in SchoolMint. (atlantaclassical.org) If a student is offered a seat, the family must complete registration forms and provide valid supporting documents by the deadline set by the enrollment manager or the seat is forfeited. (atlantaclassical.org) Atlanta Classical uses a grade-level lottery when applications exceed available seats, posts lottery results and waitlist positions in each applicant’s SchoolMint account, adds post-lottery applicants to their grade’s waitlist, and does not carry waitlists over to the next school year. (atlantaclassical.org) Priority categories include siblings of currently enrolled students and children of board members or full-time employees, and the school also says it uses a weighted lottery for economically disadvantaged students, with documentation required if an offer is made.
