Prairie Trace Elementary enrolls students through Carmel Clay Schools’ district-wide enrollment process: confirm Prairie Trace is your assigned school using the district boundary map/locator, then complete the Online Registration (PowerSchool) and follow the district’s registration instructions. (ccs.k12.in.us) Required documentation includes an official birth certificate or passport, immunization records, parent/guardian photo ID, proof of residency (specified housing document(s) plus a gas/electric utility bill), and guardianship/custody paperwork if the enrolling adult is not the biological parent. (ccs.k12.in.us) For 2026–2027 kindergarten, enrollment opens January 12, 2026; children must be age 5 on or before August 1 of the enrolling year (with an early-entry waiver option described for children turning 5 by October 1), and kindergarten screening is scheduled at the school after registration. (ccs.k12.in.us) The website does not describe a general admissions waitlist for boundary-assigned students; attendance is primarily determined by residency/attendance boundaries. (ccs.k12.in.us) Families seeking Prairie Trace outside their boundary must request an in-district transfer/residency exception (no guarantee), with eligibility categories listed such as second-semester relocations within the district, certain continuing students entering grades 5/8, siblings of students receiving designated special services, and children of CCS employees; processing is described as taking about 10–14 days and approvals depend on eligibility and space availability.
