Teaching Approach

Updated 8mo ago

Beit Rabban emphasizes “deep, joyful learning” that blends rigor with wonder to cultivate intellectually curious, independent thinkers. Students build skills and knowledge through primary sources, direct experience, and interdisciplinary work, with Judaics and general studies intentionally integrated rather than separated. Their methodology also stresses whole-child development (academic, emotional, and spiritual) and student-centered learning approaches such as Reggio Emilia in early childhood and structured partner learning (chevruta) to strengthen critical thinking and social-emotional skills.

Admissions

Updated 8mo ago

Beit Rabban asks prospective families to begin by submitting an online inquiry form, after which the admissions team schedules a virtual introductory conversation before arranging an in-person parent tour (weekday mornings, typically at or before 9:00 AM). Families then submit the online application by the stated deadline and complete it with all supporting materials (recommendations requested through the online system, progress reports/report cards, and any evaluations/IEPs if applicable); tuition-assistance applicants also submit the FACTS scholarship application and/or the Affordability Initiative form. Once an application is complete, prospective students participate in an on-campus visit: Gan and Kindergarten applicants attend a “playdate,” while grades 1–8 applicants attend an interview and grade-level assessment (and, if needed, the school may visit the applicant’s current school with parent communication in advance). For the 2026–2027 cycle, applications became available September 3, 2025 and the admissions/tuition-assistance deadline was January 8, 2026; applicant notifications begin in February and enrollment deadlines follow the ISAAGNY calendar (e.g., Kindergarten enrollment deadline February 12, 2026 and Gan enrollment deadline March 5, 2026). The school indicates off-cycle admissions may be possible if space is available, but it does not publicly spell out a specific waitlist policy or any admissions priority categories on its admissions page.
