The Bryn Mawr School describes its approach as a joyful, supportive, and academically rigorous education that emphasizes intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, creative expression, and the "delights and demands of learning." It says students are known as individuals and encouraged to take intellectual risks, develop bold and compassionate voices, make informed ethical choices, and grow in mind, body, and spirit as they prepare for lifelong learning and leadership. The Bryn Mawr School directs families to apply through its online admissions portal by creating an account, and it encourages—but does not require—attendance at a Visiting Day or group tour before applying. (brynmawrschool.org) For the 2026–27 cycle, the school lists December 15, 2025 as the main application and flexible tuition deadline, with applications accepted after that on a rolling, space-available basis; it also lists January 10, 2026 for grades 2–5 testing, January 15 for grade 1 group assessment, January 24 for PK/K group assessment, February 19 for decision release, and March 6 for the new-student enrollment deadline. (brynmawrschool.org) Requirements vary by grade: PK–1 applicants submit the application, complete an individual assessment plus parent information session, and send a preschool referral; grades 2–5 add a parent session, shadow visit, January assessment, transcripts, and referral; grades 6–12 also submit a student questionnaire and essay plus ISEE testing (or SSAT for grades 9–12), transcripts, and a referral. (brynmawrschool.org) The site also has a separate international applicant process with a $125 fee, transcripts/report cards, testing, recommendations, and a Zoom interview or campus visit. (brynmawrschool.org) I did not find a published waitlist policy on the admissions pages reviewed, and I did not find explicit admissions-priority categories; the only clearly stated special categories were siblings of currently enrolled students and daughters of alumnae, who are eligible for application fee waivers.
